Without further ado, let’s jump right into it!
In case you are experiencing issues related to connection timeout in Lost Ark, we have covered it in a separate post. You can check it out here. For this one, we have curated a list of ways to help you resolve the crashing issues. Keep in mind that any method can be helpful from the available list of fixes. So make sure you try all of them one after the other until the issue is resolved permanently.
Now, with that out of the way, let’s begin!
While playing the game, you need all your PC resources to work in sync. There is a possibility that applications on your PC may acquire idle resources in the background. Not to mention, apps open in the background may interfere with the game in ways you can not think of, leading straight to crashing issues.
The ideal way to handle this is to close unnecessary processes and applications before launching the game. Here’s how you do it –
Step 1 – Press Ctrl+Shift+Esc to open the task manager on your PC.
Step 2 – In the task manager, spot the applications you are not directly using but running in the background. Also, since you will be playing the game, you may not require any other app. Take your decision and shortlist the running apps and processes that do not appear helpful to you.
Step 3 – Select those processes and click on the end task. This will close them up, allowing the game to run properly.
Ensure you eliminate programs like third-party scanners, P2P clients, video and voice chat apps, etc., as these are the common processes that interfere with your game, causing the Lost Ark crashing error.
If clearing the unnecessary processes from the background did not do the trick, you should try performing a clean boot. It will help remove unnecessary services, even those offered by Microsoft to run the game smoothly.
To perform a clean boot, use the following steps –
Step 1 – Press Win+R to open the Run search.
Step 2 – Use the command msconfig and hit enter to open the System Configuration window.
Step 3 – Navigate to the Services tab after the System Configuration window appears.
Step 4 – First, mark the “Hide Microsoft Services” option and then click Disable All. Click OK to save the progress.
Step 5 – Next, click on the Startup Tab, and it will ask you to open the Task Manager again. Open it up.
Step 6 – In the Task Manager, you may find a list of applications that open up at the startup. Disable them all one by one.
Step 7 – After performing all the steps above, restart your PC.
Launch Lost Ark after the restart to check if the game runs properly without the services interfering. If it does, one of the services or startup programs will be blamed. You can now use the same System Configuration window to check for the responsible app by manually similarly closing services.
Still no luck? Well, here’s a quick fix that you can try to ensure that all the fixes you perform are worth it. Your PC must be up to date with the latest OS version. Even missing out on a minor update may cause an error with the game and the PC’s overall performance. Hence, it is always better to check for system updates.
Step 1 – Press Win+I to open the System Settings.
Step 2 – Click on Windows Updates from the left pane in the opened settings menu.
Step 3 – Check if the Update center already has pending updates listed. Click on Check for updates if the updates are not available.
Step 4 – If updates are to be installed, click on Download and Install, and the process will begin.
Step 5 – Once the updates are ready to be implemented, restart your computer and wait for it to finish.
After the update, you can run the Lost Ark to check if it crashes again. Usually, the issues related to support and compatibility are resolved after an update, so this should do the trick for you.
